Lip blushing procedure:
A lip blushing procedure is similar to lip tattooing. It’s accomplished in the following way:
Step 1: BrianBrows Artist will go over your desired lip shape and tone, as well as any sketches that need your approval.
Step 2: BrianBrows Artist will numb your lips so that you’ll feel less pain and discomfort.
Step 3: BrianBrows Artist will insert a natural-looking pigment into your lips using small needles. This is done in multiple layers to help create an even tone.
In all, the process can take between 2 and 3 hours.
Does lip blushing hurt?
BrianBrows Artists will apply a numbing product to your lips beforehand to help minimize pain and discomfort.
The lower your pain tolerance, the more discomfort you might feel. However, some people may not feel much pain at all.
Avoid taking naproxen, ibuproten, aspirin, coffee or alcohol beforehand, as well as supplements like fish oil, garlic, gingko, and vitamin E — these can increase bleeding and bruising.
How long does it last?
Results will always vary from person to person, after your initial session and the touch up, your results should last between 2-3 years. Additional touch ups may be required depending on the person and look desired.
How long Does the procedure take?
The procedure takes about 2-3 hours.
What to expect?
- There will be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 3-5 days. You just need to follow post care information provided to you by BrianBrows's Artists.
- During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.
- Expect the color to eventually lighten by up to 40% once the healing process is complete.
- Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.
- Frequent lip exfoliation, sun exposure, and smoking can all make the pigment fade quicker.
How Long Does the Lip Blush Healing Process Last?
Lip blushing is a type of semi permanent make up and it requires multiple sessions, (the initial and a touch up) the first session is the most important one. After the 1st session, the skin of your lips will go through several stages of the permanent lip color healing process. It needs to recover from the trauma and close up the micro-wounds.
The superficial lip blush healing process lasts about 7-10 days for most people. That’s how long it takes for the surface of the skin to heal – but it takes about 6-8 weeks for the tissue underneath to heal completely and for the pigments to settle. During this healing time the color will fade and fluctuate till it is totally healed.
Once it is healed we can see the final color and shape and make the necessary adjustments (we call it the touch up), and you should come back for this touch up session to get enough saturation and to adjust anything that may be needed for a good result.
Then you might need to do touch up every year to maintain your desired color.
Touch up price after 6-8 weeks is $149 plus tax, and after 6 months to 1 year is between $199 and $249 plus tax, depending on how much works need to be done on your lips. Basically, the sooner you touch up, the less you pay!
